Satan’s Kingdom (Kingdom of Darkness)
Whenever satan’s kingdom or the Kingdom of Darkness is mentioned the first thoughts that come to your mind is either something evil, an old horror movie or a place where you do not want to go. Why? The concept of satan’s kingdom comes from the Bible and from ages past the scripture was rightly interpreted to describe a place where it’s king (satan) has his rule. Through the years Hollywood and the media have cashed in on this age-old concept and added their own spin as to what the Kingdom of Darkness is. Demonize.org will be moving the fiction aside and looking at the real world of satan’s kingdom as described in the Bible. The Bible is the best-selling book ever and arguably the most controversial literature on the planet of all time. Why? What does the Bible Say:
Since we believe that the highest authority on satan’s kingdom is the Bible, let us explore what it says to us.
When did satan’s kingdom begin and where can it be found?
We must first understand the kingdom concept as described in the scripture; first, it is not a physical place as it is in the realm of spiritual beings. It is more to do with a condition that lies within us (within your heart). Read our supporting verses for this position in the book of Luke on what Yeshua (Jesus) said about the Kingdom of God and where it resides.
The Kingdom Concept (where?):
(Luke 17:20-21 [KJV])
And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: 21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you (He was speaking to the believer in Christ).
In the verses above, Yeshua gives the Kingdom of God a deeper meaning; the Kingdom, it lies within you (the believer). If we flip this around to what is called the kingdom of satan, by reasoning it too resides within the unbeliever (unsaved – all those that are not of God).
To summarize: When a person accepts Christ and lives the commandments and precepts of God, the Kingdom is within him. However, when a person lives his own way (ways that seem right in his own eyes) and in direct rebellion to God, his own way of life is representative of satan’s kingdom (a kingdom in adversarial rebellion against God and His word).
The Beginning of the kingdom:
Scripture shows the beginning of satan’s kingdom started with his fall (after he sinned). The exact time in years is not known. Remember, it starts within the heart.
Satan’s kingdom begins at the point his personal sin separated him from God’s Kingdom (God’s way).
(Isa 14:12-15 [KJV])
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. (sin) 15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
In the following verses, Yeshua implies that satan’s kingdom stands united.
(Matt 12:26 [KJV])
And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
(Luke 11:18 [KJV])
If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
How large is satan’s kingdom?
We live in a physical universe and we tend to think in terms of size and mass. However, when describing satan’s kingdom we are speaking about spiritual beings that exist beyond our dimension. The Bible, however, hints to the portion of beings that makes up satan’s kingdom in relation to the whole; No number is given by scripture.
Here a 1/3 part of the stars (angels) were drawn by him (satan). We do not know the total number of fallen angels but we are given the portion in relation to the whole.
(Rev 12:4 [KJV])
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Will satan’s kingdom end?
The definitive answer is yes, satan’s kingdom will indeed end. Satan’s kingdom will be brought into total submission at the beginning of the millennium reign of Yeshua. Satan will be bound for the millennium period, released for his last season of activity and then finally cast into the lake of fire.
Satan is bound for 1000 years – The power of satan’s kingdom is put on pause.
(Rev 20:1-2 [KJV])
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Satan is cast into the lake of fire for ever and ever – satan’s kingdom is no more.
(Rev 20:10 [KJV])
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Be on Guard:
We have no doubt that after reading and listening you have gained new knowledge about satan’s kingdom. We encourage you to put on the full armor of God and be on your guard and fight the good fight of faith.
(Eph 2:1-3 [KJV])
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
